Canon Extender FD 2x-B

Canon extenders FD 2x-A and FD 2x-B are accessories for doubling the focal length or zooming range of FD lenses. Extender FD 2x-B is for any FD lens having a focal length which is less than 300mm, including all FD zoom lenses which have a maximum focal length than 300mm. Extender FD 2x-A is for those FD lenses which have a focal length of 300mm or greater, including zoom lenses with 300mm in their range.

Since each Extender has all FD signals, the camera may be used exactly as it normally is with a FD lens. Although an extender reduces the effective aperture by two f/stops. metering exposure can be done as usual with a camera which has a trough-the-lens meter (TTL).
Since they do not affect the minimum focusing distance of the prime lens, it is possible to focus closer and magnify the subject more than would be possible with a lens of double the prime lens' focal length.
