Gossen Kelvilux is a color temperature meter used to measure the current
temperature of the ambient light. Color temperatures are measured in
degrees Kelvin ºK. Color is the visible light ranging from infrared to
ultra violet. Both infrared and ultra violet are outside the range of
visible light The color of light is measured in 2 major color red en
The meter tells you the amount of color in the ambient light. Depending
of the film in use it is possible to see the type of filter to be used.
The Kelvilux permits measurement in the range of practical lighting
intensities between 300 and 100000 lux.
The main body incorporate a switch with three positions enabling the
user to adapt the instrument to the prevailing light intensity. Besides
the black version the Kelvilux is also available in the red color.
The Kelvilux has measuring range from 2000 to 10.000 ºK a scale reading
accuracy of +/- 25 ºK in the range 200 ºK to 6000 ºK and +/- 50 ºK in
the range 2000 ºK to 10.000 ºK. Light intensities of 300 to 100.000 lux
are required for accurate readings.
