K.H. Weigand Messtechnik GmbH -  Actino

Karl-Heinrich Weigand, born on December 2 1904, founded, together with a group of  people, a company in 1938 in Erlangen Germany for manufacturing electrical measuring equipment.

The company was located in the Essenbacher strasse 13. In 1939 the first photoelectric exposure meter, the Actiono, was presented. After 1945 Weigand operated the company alone and from 1948 the company produces exposure meters again at a new location, Mittlere Schulstrasse 4, 8520 Erlangen untill 1964.

The exposure meters were represented in Great Brittain by Actino, located in London 10 Dane street, High Holborn W.C.1. For the USA imported by Spiratone Inc. W. 27th street New York.

The product name Actino has been registered in 1954 WZ (Wahrenzeichen) 653.139 as "electrischer belichtungsmesse".
